WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

The Occupational Therapist role offers an opportunity to apply and further develop your clinical experience, professional competence and generalist and/or specialist knowledge within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. Working under reduced clinical direction, you will plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of the local community.

You will utilise a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment and evaluation approaches. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, assistants and students while managing your own workload and supporting team resource allocation.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Apply professional expertise to deliver services requiring increasingly complex clinical skills.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate a range of Occupational Therapy services.
  • Exercise professional judgement in adapting methods, procedures and techniques.
  • Manage and prioritise workload and support team resource allocation.
  • Provide clinical and consultative services across a range of settings.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

Working in this environment, it is important to us that we only employ people with the upmost integrity and commitment to serving the South Australian community and its visitors to the highest possible standards. To ensure that we meet that commitment there are a few checks that you will be required to undertake. These are detailed on the Role Description, but are likely to include the following:

  • You will need to be immunised. Please contact the Enquiries Person for this position if you have any queries. Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy. Further information is in the application for to help guide you. 
  • You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
  • You must hold a recognised qualification within the Occupational Therapy Profession and be eligible for practicing membership of the Occupational Therapy professional and fulfil all requirements to obtain and maintain current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of South Australia.
