Clinical Nurse - Advance Diabetes and Endocrine Care Through Research

Join our specialist diabetes and endocrine research team at Marion GP Plus as a part-time Clinical Research Nurse, where you'll combine exceptional patient care with groundbreaking research activities. About the role: 

Reporting to the Clinical Research Manager, the research nurse role is an expert clinician and leader delivering direct and comprehensive care to clients within the Clinical Research unit. The role has responsibilities for coordination of research protocols in keeping with ICH GCP Guidelines. (International Conference of Harmonisation – Good Clinical Practise Guidelines).

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical research and nursing care and individual protocol and case management to participants in a defined clinical area,
  • Monitoring participant progress and care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
  • Assists and supports the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,
  • Participate in clinical auditing, clinical trials and/or evaluative research

About you:

  • Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing Board of Australia and holds a current practicing certificate,
  • Meets (or is prepared to work toward) the requirements of an ADEA recognised Diabetes Educator,
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
  • Previous experience in Diabetes Education/Health Education an advantage.  Experience in venepuncture an advantage,
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
