About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Registered or Clinical Nurse within the Adult Community Mental Health team.
As a Registered or Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessment, care planning, and evidence-based interventions to adults experiencing complex mental health conditions. Our community-based approach focuses on recovery-oriented care, supporting clients to achieve their personal goals while maintaining independence in their home environment.
You'll be part of a specialised multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive mental health services to adults in community settings. This role offers the opportunity to provide holistic, person-centred care while working collaboratively with families, carers, and healthcare professionals to support recovery and wellbeing.
The Assertive team are interdisciplinary and work together to provide intensive, community-based services to individuals who have significant difficulties engaging in traditional mental health services. The role of the Assertive team is to support clients in the recovery journey, promoting stability, independence, and overall wellbeing, provide comprehensive and intensive community-based support and treatment for individuals with severe mental illnesses. The primary goal is to promote recovery, enhance quality of life, and prevent hospitalisation. The Assertive Team operate over seven days, between the hours of 08:30 and 17:30.
The Acute stream provides specialist mental health assessment and short-term therapeutic interventions for clients aged between 18 years and 64 years. Treatment will aim to Assess, Stabilise, Treat, and Facilitate Transfer of Care to the most appropriate service, in the least restrictive environment, at the earliest opportunity. The Acute Stream is intended to deliver a dynamic and responsive service and will respond to clients, families and/or carers who require an urgent tertiary mental health response. These referrals meet the Rapid Response, Tier 1 and Tier 2 criteria in accordance with the Mental Health Triage scale. Response times will be matched with this scale. Additionally, the Acute Stream will provide Post Discharge support to new consumers of mental health services. Acute Stream staff will also provide non-urgent assessments to consumers to promote service flow. The Acute Stream will operate over seven days, between the hours of 08:00 and 21:00.
Appointment to the role will be at the RN1 or RN2C classification, dependent on the level of experience.
To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
