About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is inviting passionate Exercise Physiologists to join our Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care casual pool. This is a chance to step into a role where your expertise directly shapes patient outcomes and where every day brings meaningful impact.

From the moment you join us, you’ll be contributing to improved mobility, restored independence and enhanced wellbeing for individuals across a diverse range of clinical needs. Whether you’re helping an older adult regain confidence after a hospital stay or supporting a patient through their rehabilitation journey, your work will make a tangible difference.

In this dynamic role, you’ll design and deliver evidence‑based exercise programs tailored to older adults, rehabilitation clients and individuals receiving palliative care. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring each patient receives coordinated, holistic support. Your clinical insight will help guide patients through challenges and celebrate their progress along the way.

Our Exercise Physiology services span inpatient, home‑based and community settings within the Rehabilitation and Geriatric clinical services based at Modbury, with opportunities for outreach work. As part of the casual pool, you’ll have the chance to rotate through several key clinical areas:

  • Geriatrics: provide assessment and tailored interventions for older adults, working closely with families and carers. You’ll support patients experiencing deconditioning, frailty, cardiac or orthopaedic rehabilitation, including work within the inpatient Geriatric Rehabilitation ward
  • Rehabilitation: deliver assessment and individualised programs for adults with a wide range of conditions, including stroke, progressive neurological disorders, brain injury and general deconditioning. Rehabilitation settings include inpatient wards, the Day Rehabilitation Service (a six‑week outpatient program) and the Rehabilitation in the Home program.

Appointment to the role will be at the AHP1 or AHP2 level, dependent on the level of experience.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, usually in human movements, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective and eligible for accreditation from Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA).

About You:

In this role you will be dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Exercise Physiologist who thrives in a supportive, team‑focused environment. You bring strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to delivering high‑quality care.
