About the role

Supports WCHN’s Artificial Intelligence strategy by guiding the development, governance and ethical use of AI technologies. The Artificial Intelligence Officer builds organisational capability, drives innovation, and partners across teams to integrate AI solutions that enhance efficiency and patient centred care.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide leadership and direction on AI and to continue to grow WCHN’s AI maturity building capability and capacity.
  • Lead the execution of the organisation's AI strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Contribute to the roadmap for AI implementation and prioritise projects based on value, feasibility, and resource availability.
  • Provide leadership in the maintenance of a robust AI governance framework.
  • Ensuring AI practices comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in Digital Health, machine learning, or data science roles.
  • Strong understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and governance standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing AI strategies and policies.
  • Ability to plan, lead, implement, manage, and evaluate goals, objectives and strategies.
