Make a Difference - Administration Assistant Role in Allergy Services

Join SA Health as a Part-time Administration Assistant supporting our specialist allergy services at Flinders Medical Centre. You will provide essential administrative support to our clinical team while helping deliver quality patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment. This ongoing position offers potential for additional hours and excellent opportunities for professional growth within South Australia's largest health network.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role is responsible for the provision of effective administrative support services to the clinical team providing Allergy/Clinical Immunology integrated patient care at FMC and Marion GP Plus.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Contributing to the general upkeep of the office,
  • Work effectively as a team member within the office,
  • Providing minute taking support to unit meetings,
  • Responding to complex inquiries from all staff groups, patients, visitors, external professional groups and other institutions and agencies including Nursing Agencies in a courteous manner,
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, evaluating them for urgency and using judgement, redirecting to the appropriate departmental member is available,
  • Providing patient outpatient clinic bookings and billing support to ACI Unit,
  • Facilitating follow up appointments and investigations for patients

About you:

  • Ability to work as a member of a team and individually,
  • High level of personal organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines,
  • Experience in establishing, maintaining and controlling appropriate records and filing systems,
  • Demonstrated experience using medical terminology both verbally and in writing,
  • Demonstrated experience in using patient booking systems
