About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our dedicated team within CALHN. Based primarily at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, you will deliver high-quality communication and swallowing services to an acute adult inpatient caseload. This role offers variety and professional growth, with the possibility of working across other CALHN sites including The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and Repat Health Precinct. The requirement for Casual appointment is mainly weekends but may be required on weekdays, working as part of a supportive and collaborative environment.

In this rewarding role, you will operate with a high level of independence while contributing to the care of patients with complex and high-acuity needs. You will also play an important part in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes. This is a great opportunity to further develop your advanced clinical skills while making a meaningful difference in patient care across the CALHN network.

About You

You are an experienced and driven Speech Pathologist with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in an acute health setting. You bring strong clinical skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Speech Pathology and are eligible for full membership with Speech Pathology Australia, with proven experience in dysphagia and acquired communication disorders.

  • Demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, working effectively with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Thrive in managing a complex and high-acuity caseload with independence, using excellent organisational and problem-solving skills to deliver optimal care.

  • Committed to professional growth, mentoring others, contributing to quality improvement, and upholding safety and ethical standards in your practice.
