About the role

Join a dynamic, fast‑paced environment where your work directly supports children, families, and clinical teams. As an Administrative Officer in the Paediatric Emergency Department, you’ll be part of a dedicated 24/7 clerical team responsible for delivering high‑quality administrative and reception services.

Key duties of the role

  • Register and update patient details on the hospital’s database/s in a timely manner.
  • Retrieve and create Medical Records to assist with patient care, outpatient attendances, and pathology results follow up.
  • Interpret and enter data into patient administration systems for patient registration, admission, and transfer to wards.
  • Manage enquiries in a confidential, courteous, empathetic, and prompt manner.
  • Coordinate the operation of the telephone system and overhead communication system.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with the provision of an efficient front line, customer focussed service.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to set priorities, work to deadlines, and perform all duties effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, staff, external agencies and members of the public.
  • Ability to use initiative and work autonomously under limited direction with competing priorities.
