Exciting Opportunity in a Dynamic Mental Health Service

Build a rewarding Occupational Therapy career in a service where no two days are the same. Join CALHN’s Older Persons Mental Health Services Rapid Access Service (RAS) and work across community, residential aged care, rehabilitation and acute mental health settings, supporting older people with complex mental health and behavioural needs.

This is an opportunity to expand your clinical skills while making a genuine difference to the lives of older South Australians. You will work with consumers experiencing BPSD, dementia-related behaviours and enduring mental illness, delivering evidence-based assessment, intervention and behavioural support that improves safety, wellbeing and independence.

Working within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with consumers, carers, aged care providers and health professionals to reduce distress, support safe transitions of care and improve quality of life outcomes.

In this varied and professionally rewarding role, you will:

  • Deliver functional, behavioural and psychosocial assessments
  • Develop behaviour support and intervention strategies
  • Support discharge planning and reduce barriers to transition
  • Work across community, RACF, rehabilitation and inpatient settings
  • Provide consultation, education and discipline-specific expertise
  • Contribute to service improvement and evidence-based practice
  • Support students and junior clinicians through supervision and mentoring

About You

You an empathetic and motivated Occupational Therapist who enjoys building relationships, thinking creatively and supporting people with complex needs to live well and safely. You will bring:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
  • Interest or experience in mental health or older persons care
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to person-centred and evidence-based practice
