About the Role

As the Administration Officer, ACAS, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the Aged Care Assessment Service by delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support to the Executive, Team Leader – Administration, and the broader statewide ACAS workforce. Your contribution will help ensure efficient coordination of referrals, assessments, and support plan reviews, ultimately assisting older South Australians in accessing the care and services they need through the My Aged Care system.

In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will utilise your technical expertise in systems such as My Aged Care, the Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT), Microsoft Office, and ProAct to manage complex administrative processes, data integrity, and reporting. You will also support meeting coordination, rostering, and communication tasks that keep the team running effectively. With a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism, you will play a key part in helping the ACAS team maintain compliance, meet performance targets, and deliver an exceptional experience for clients and stakeholders across the network.

About You

You are an organised, empathetic, and detail-driven professional with a strong commitment to supporting older South Australians through high-quality administrative and client services. You thrive in fast-paced environments, are confident working across multiple databases, and bring a strong understanding of aged care pathways and My Aged Care systems.

  • Educational/Vocational Qualifications – Completion of the My Aged Care Self-Paced Learning Experience (SPLE) or MAClearning Administration Certificate, including modules focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, CALD communities, Carers, and Triage.

  • Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills – Strong technical proficiency in My Aged Care and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with exceptional organisational skills, customer service focus, confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while meeting KPIs.

  • Experience – Demonstrated experience in aged care, community, or health settings; proven ability to manage high-volume inbound referrals and enquiries; skilled in maintaining accurate client records and delivering specialist administrative support aligned with program benchmarks and performance measures.

  • Knowledge – Sound understanding of Aged Care reforms, service pathways, and programs (CHSP, HCP, residential and respite care), with awareness of cultural diversity, government administration processes, and principles of equal opportunity, ethical conduct, and work health and safety.
