About the role

If you’re looking for a meaningful role where you can contribute to the wellbeing of your local community, this is a great opportunity to join SA Pathology as a Pathology Collector in Murray Bridge.

Whether you’re people-oriented and new to the field (OPS1) or bringing experience in specimen collection and clinical support (OPS2), you’ll play an important hands-on role in delivering safe, accurate and compassionate pathology services. Each day, you’ll help keep our laboratory services running smoothly - collecting and preparing specimens, assisting with clinical tasks, transporting samples, managing enquiries and providing clear, friendly communication to clients, clinicians and colleagues. Experience in phlebotomy, medical terminology or data entry is welcome, but not essential, as comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.

Working under the guidance of the Regional Laboratory Manager, you’ll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team that values professionalism, teamwork and a positive approach. OPS1 employees receive structured training and close supervision to build confidence and capability, while OPS2 employees apply their established skills with greater autonomy under general direction.

Based in one of South Australia’s largest regional towns Murray Bridge ,is right on the Murray River and just an hour from Adelaide - you’ll also enjoy the lifestyle benefits of the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Monarto as your extended backyard. With minimal shift work and the chance to work across nearby SA Pathology sites, this role offers the perfect balance of purpose, community connection and career development.

About You

You’re someone who genuinely cares about people, takes pride in delivering great service, and is ready to contribute to a high-performing pathology team—whether you’re building your skills at OPS1 or bringing more experience at OPS2.

  • You bring a strong customer service focus, showing empathy, professionalism and a commitment to helping others.
  • You use sound judgement to recognise issues, solve problems where you can, and escalate appropriately.
  • You’re confident using information systems and databases, with accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • You’re reliable, organised and able to manage specimen collection tasks, reception duties and workflow support with care and attention to detail.
