About the role

The Advanced Trainee provides supervised medical care to paediatric and reproductive genetics inpatients and outpatients, ensuring high standards of clinical practice, accurate medical documentation, coordinated follow-up care, and adherence to policies, all while contributing to teamwork, teaching, and clinical education activities.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide medical care to inpatients and outpatients under supervision.
  • Maintain high-quality medical records which document patient management decisions.
  • Coordinate follow-up care of hospital inpatients and outpatients.
  • Ensure patients and their families can exercise their rights and responsibilities.
  • Be responsive to patient and relative complaints.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
  • Satisfactorily completed RACP Basic Paediatric Training requirements and progressed to Advanced Trainee.
  • Skills in problem solving and decision making about patient management.
  • Ability to satisfy continuing medical education or recertification standards stipulated by the RACP or other authorised bodies.
