About the Role

As an Enrolled Nurse (EN), you will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife to provide safe, effective and person-centred nursing care.

You will contribute to patient care across a variety of clinical settings, supporting individuals and families with diverse and sometimes complex needs, while continuing to grow your clinical knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred nursing care within your scope of practice
  • Assist in assessment, care planning and implementation of patient care
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition, escalating as required
  • Support the multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective care
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities and evidence-based practice
  • Provide education and support to patients, families and carers
  • Assist in the supervision of students and Assistants in Nursing (AINs)
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Enrolment (or eligibility) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound clinical judgement and ability to recognise and escalate deterioration
  • Commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands
  • Understanding of professional standards, codes and ethics in nursing practice

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and quality improvement
  • Confidence using clinical systems and technology
