Overview:

This position works closely with Health Facility Licensing Officers to support the Manager Clinical Regulation Policy and Licensing to efficiently and effectively deliver administrative and legislative activities committed to the Minister under Parts 6, 10 and 10A of the Health Care Act 2008 (SA).

The key functions of this role include:

  • To lead, coordinate, inspect and report on a range of complex private hospital and private day procedure centre licence applications and projects, with a specific focus on assessing compliance with the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG)
  • Administer powers of the Minister for Health and Wellbeing under the Health Care Act 2008 (SA) to ensure private hospitals, private day procedure centres and private ambulance operators comply with their legislative obligations.

Appointment to classification will be based upon skills / experience.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

  • A driver’s licence (car class) is essential.
  • Out of hours and intra/interstate work, which may necessitate overnight stays, may be required.
  • The incumbent will be required to be part of the on call weekend roster. 
  • The incumbent may be required to assist in the provision of environmental health services to communities located in the more remote parts of South Australia.

For PO3:

  • An Appropriate Degree or relevant qualification in science, health, project management, building and/or planning assessment, architecture, engineering or related field is required
