Overview:

The Assurance Officer reports to the Principal Governance and Assurance Manager within Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC), Financial Services and Reporting (FSR) and is responsible for the following:

  • Contributing to the establishment of a professional and effective procurement assurance review program reflecting the requirements of the SA Government Procurement Framework.
  • Conducting and reporting on assurance reviews of internal controls and system processes related to procurement across the portfolio, in line with SA Health’s approved assurance review plan and timeframes.
  • Drafting reports containing advice and recommendations in key areas for improvement and working proactively with business units to implement improvement opportunities.
  • Working with Procurement Supply Chain and Management (PSCM), within the Corporate and Infrastructure Division to improve policies, communications, and training etc. to address any indications where improvements could be implemented.
  • Facilitating effective communications with Internal/External Audit and PSCM.
  • Contributing to managing supplier complaints and providing general probity advice to procurement and contract management staff to support transparency and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Collating management responses to audit reviews, monitoring, and management.
  • Undertaking reporting obligations for PSCM relating to legislative compliance, Treasurer’s Instruction breaches etc.
  • Supporting the Governance & Assurance Team within GRC to achieve business unit objectives. Ensuring a professional and responsive approach to the management of governance and assurance matters, including developing and maintaining constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
