About the Role

Step into a dynamic, hands-on role where your skills directly support the smooth operation of vital health services. The Facilities & Grounds Officer is responsible for a broad range of maintenance tasks across interior and exterior areas, including minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, as well as general building upkeep. The role also involves grounds maintenance such as lawn care, irrigation, weed control, and rubbish collection, alongside monitoring plant and equipment, completing preventative and breakdown maintenance, and maintaining accurate records. Participation in an on-call roster may be required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent) or relevant hands-on trade experience.

  • Experience in building/grounds maintenance, plant operation, and irrigation systems.

  • Able to work independently and in teams, using initiative to meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills, with ability to work across diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of WHS, risk management, continuous improvement, and basic computer systems (MS Office).

Desired Criteria

  • Demonstrated manual handling skills.
  • Experience with SA Health systems and procurement platforms (e.g. Oracle, Basware, Ventia).
  • Ability to locate and follow policies and procedures via the SA Health intranet.
