About the role: 

Reporting to the Professor, this role is responsible for enabling end-user access to timely and quality information for operational, clinical, financial, tactical, management and strategic purposes and leading the development, delivery and evaluation of complex data governance and management projects, functions and services

 Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure that service provision and the activities of the Rehabilitation Services Unit is person centred, professional and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
  • Initiate, plan and develop a best practice data governance framework to manage SALHN’s data and related functions. This includes formulating, developing, implementing and supporting data management instruments comprising of standards, practices and technologies to support and facilitate transforming SALHN/SA Health data into a strategic asset,
  • Scope, develop, test and deliver appropriate Business Intelligence Applications to support data analytics, reporting, visualisations and business analysis,
  • Review, develop and implement processes related to data collection, sharing, utilisation, protection, cleaning and storage

About you:

  • An appropriate Degree for example, Public Health, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology or related discipline,
  • Lead the development of the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged Care and Palliative Care’s reporting systems and associated applications,
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire others to work collaborative to achieve objectives, develop talent with a commitment to a team orientated philosophy to bring about best use of resources to deliver services,
  • Cultivates a high-performance culture, supporting innovation, action oriented, drives results and supports Division of Rehabilitation, Aged Care and Palliative Care’s vision,
  • Demonstrates sound decision quality, ensures accountability, works effectively / manages complexity to ensure work output and decisions are ethical and invariably of a high standard,
  • Extensive experience in working with computer systems and applications including business intelligence, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, statistical packages and clinical costing systems,
  • Demonstrated experience developing, delivering and evaluating complex compliance monitoring and data quality programs including developing data quality metrics to assess and monitor improvements,
  • Demonstrated experience in health sector casemix and patient activity data collection, interpretation and analysis
