Experience in specimen collection, medical terminology or data entry is preferred, but not essential. SA Pathology provides on the job training, employment stability, and great work-life balance – minimal shiftwork required.

Pathology Collectors are blood draw experts! They can also collect respiratory and other test samples, and they’re data entry champions too. They ensure your sample is correctly collected and identified, so your results are returned to you sooner.

Some rostered shifts at other SA Pathology centres within the Yorke Peninsula will be required.

As a Pathology Collector, you will play a valued role in supporting high-quality, efficient laboratory services across SA Pathology. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will undertake a variety of practical tasks such as specimen collection, transport, sorting and labelling, while assisting with clinical duties in line with established protocols. Your work will directly contribute to timely and accurate testing outcomes that support patient care.

Reporting to the Regional Laboratory Manager, you will provide welcoming, professional service to patients, staff and stakeholders, including referring clinicians and medical professionals. This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on patient interaction, works well under general direction, and takes pride in applying their skills with care, accuracy and respect. Through regular collaboration with medical, scientific and operational teams, you will help ensure every interaction reflects the trusted standards of SA Pathology.

  • A genuine commitment to excellent customer service, care and empathy

  • Sound judgement with the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately

  • Experience responding to customer enquiries using information systems

  • Exposure to healthcare or pathology environments, including specimen collection, is valued
