About the role

Join SA Pathology as a Communications Officer and play a key role in shaping how we connect, inform and engage with our people and community. Reporting to the Manager Communication and Engagement, you will take a proactive and positive approach to developing clear, engaging communication products across a variety of platforms. Using your strong writing and storytelling skills, you will research, develop and deliver informative and compelling content that supports SA Pathology’s reputation as a trusted leader in health services.

In this role, you will contribute to stronger staff engagement by delivering the organisation’s weekly staff newsletter, The Pulse, while also designing and developing brand collateral including active PDFs, patient and GP information sheets, and training guides. You will support digital communication through SharePoint intranet updates and website content via SA Pathology’s CMS, working closely with the Manager Communication and Engagement and the Digital Communication Officer to create content, imagery and graphics that strengthen SA Pathology’s digital presence. With a keen eye for detail, you will ensure all messaging is consistent, engaging and aligned with the organisation’s high standards.

About You

You are a motivated communications professional who enjoys creating clear, engaging content that connects with diverse audiences. With strong writing skills and a collaborative approach, you thrive in fast-paced environments and are confident working across digital platforms to deliver high-quality communication outcomes.

  • Relevant qualifications and expertise – You hold a qualification in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field, with strong knowledge of effective communication principles and an understanding of government communication protocols.

  • Strong content development skills – You have proven experience researching, writing and producing a range of communications collateral, and are proficient in tools such as Adobe InDesign and digital content platforms.

  • Collaborative and adaptable – You work effectively within team environments, build strong stakeholder relationships and can manage competing priorities while meeting tight timeframes.

  • Excellent communication and professional values – You communicate clearly and accurately with a wide range of audiences and demonstrate a strong commitment to respect, accountability, integrity, quality and continuous improvement.
