About the Role

RN-3  Join a collaborative and innovative team as a Nurse Consultant in Mental Health, working closely with SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) Co-responders to provide hospital avoidance and emergency care for consumers in the community. You will deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, develop personalised care plans, and implement home-based interventions, supporting the diversion of low to medium acuity cases from hospital Emergency Departments. This role is central to providing safe, least restrictive care that enhances outcomes for consumers while supporting the broader community.

In this position, you will provide expert clinical nursing care and leadership, guiding the team and coordinating projects that improve service delivery and consumer outcomes. You will work within national mental health frameworks, delivering education, counselling, and group work, while consulting with other health professionals and community organisations. This is an exceptional opportunity to influence practice, provide high-quality consumer care, and contribute to the ongoing development of mental health services in South Australia.

AHP-3   Join a dedicated and collaborative multidisciplinary team, working alongside a Paramedic to provide compassionate care for mental health consumers in the community. Your role will focus on delivering safe, high-quality assessments and follow-up, helping to improve patient outcomes while reducing unnecessary Emergency Department presentations.

This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting alternative care pathways, contributing to clinical decision-making, and ensuring consumers are referred to the most appropriate services for ongoing care. You will play a vital role in enhancing community-based mental health support, ensuring timely, effective, and person-centred care for those who need it most.
