Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Port Augusta

 

About the Role:

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Infection Control, you will provide nursing services across a variety of healthcare settings, building on your experience to develop from a competent to a proficient practitioner. You will support the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in leading nursing staff within the ward/unit/service, contributing to safe and effective care delivery.

In this role, you will accept accountability for your own practice, delegated activities, and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. You will undertake a portfolio focused on infection control, working collaboratively to promote continuity and consistency of care, support practice changes, and assist with key service management functions including staffing, rostering and resource planning.

 

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Experience in management and leadership roles.
  • Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
