  • Temporary, Part-Time Role - 37.5 Hours per fortnight until December 2026

About the Role

As a Medical Scientist in the Blood Bank at Flinders Medical Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high quality diagnostic services that support safe and effective patient care. Working within a specialist laboratory team, you will perform a range of transfusion and serology testing, including pre-transfusion testing, antenatal serology and antibody investigations, while ensuring accurate results are delivered within critical clinical timeframes.

In this hands on role, you will analyse and validate test results, manage blood and blood product inventories and liaise with clinical teams regarding testing requirements and product availability. You will also contribute to quality assurance, equipment maintenance and the introduction of new methods and technologies, while participating in a 24/7 roster that supports essential hospital services.

About You

You are a motivated and detail focused Medical Scientist who enjoys working in a collaborative laboratory environment and contributing to high quality diagnostic outcomes.

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or relevant science
• Experience with diagnostic laboratory testing and equipment
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of transfusion science and pathology quality systems
