Join our team as an Emergency Department Clerk and support our commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

In this role, you will provide professional and efficient clerical support within the Emergency Department at Flinders Medical Centre and/or Noarlunga Hospital. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the registration of all patients presenting to the department, as well as facilitating admissions and supporting discharge processes where required.

The Emergency Departments at both sites operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As such, this role requires availability to work across a 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.

This recruitment process may be used to fill casual, term, or ongoing vacancies as they arise within the Division.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with members of the public and respond empathetically to a wide range of needs and situations

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with patients, families, ambulance officers, medical and nursing staff, and police

  • Previous experience in a public-facing role

  • A clear understanding of, and commitment to, maintaining patient confidentiality

  • Flexibility and reliability to work across a 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays
