What you'll be doing

As our Maintenance Officer, you'll ensure our facilities run like clockwork, using your expertise to keep facilities safe, reliable and efficient.  From maintaining essential plant and equipment to conducting repairs across our health service, you'll play a crucial role in creating a safe, efficient environment for both staff and patients.  You'll also help us stay compliant with all the important standards and regulations that keep our healthcare service running safely. Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair plant, equipment and facilities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Support risk management and accreditation processes
  • Participate in occasional on-call duties
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for all

Required Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and a genuine commitment to healthcare excellence:

  • Significant experience in maintenance and/or a trade qualification applicable to the position
  • Familiarity with chemical safety, infection control, OHS&W principles and responsibilities associated with a maintenance role
  • Strong understanding of appropriate Work Health Safety standards and legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad range of maintenance activities/repairs, including building, grounds and equipment maintenance
  • Effective interpersonal skills including ability to work respectfully and appropriately with consumers from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently while managing multiple priorities
  • Significant computer literacy and administrative skills
  • Availability for occasional out-of-hours work
