Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is one of the largest regional hospitals in South Australia, offering 75 beds, including flex beds and a dedicated High Dependency Unit. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, medical and surgical services, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatient clinics. Our Cancer Resource Centre is among the largest in regional SA, featuring six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care, and counselling services - helping patients receive vital treatment close to home. Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Whyalla

 

About the Role:

As a Patient Services Administration Officer, you will provide an efficient, effective and high-quality administrative service within the Patient Services Department, supporting Visiting Specialists and the wider hospital. You will contribute to the delivery of an effective medical records service while also assisting with switchboard operations.

In this role, you will support internal and external communications across the hospital, including the use of paging and public address systems, monitoring alarms and emergency procedures, and managing the registration of inpatients, outpatients and day patients, including both elective and emergency admissions.

 

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of a clerical/administrative support service, including the maintenance of records and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in office procedures and office equipment (i.e. photocopier, printers, facsimile, etc).
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of computer-based resources (i.e. Microsoft Office, email, Excel, data entry).

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category B (indirect contact with blood or body substances)
