RN2C Mental Health Position - Transform Lives in Adelaide South

Join our Community Marion Acute Mental Health team as a Registered Nurse Level 2C, delivering specialist nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges in Southern Adelaide. This part-time contract position until September 2026 offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment at Flinders Medical Centre. You will provide person-centred care that supports recovery and wellness while advancing your professional development in mental health nursing.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Team Manager, this role is responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care and brief care coordination/therapeutic interventions to community consumers experiencing a mental health crisis,
  • Leading consumer safety and care planning to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
  • Assisting the Nurse Consultant and Team Manager to deliver clinical and educational activities where required,
  • Planning and coordinating services with the collaboration of the multi-disciplinary team,
  • Participating in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience

About you:

  • Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate.  Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice,
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team,
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision,
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting,
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
  • Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
