Orroroo is a welcoming rural town located 257 kilometres north of Adelaide, ideally positioned at the crossroads of the Sydney–Perth Highway and the Adelaide–Blinman route through the breathtaking Flinders Ranges. Serving as a vital hub for the surrounding agricultural region, Orroroo is a picturesque farming community known for its wheat, wool, sheep, and cattle production—and for its strong sense of connection and pride.

The town offers excellent local amenities, including three coffee shops, a bakery, gift shops, hotels, sporting clubs, and well-established community facilities. Families are supported by education from pre-school through to Year 12, alongside essential services such as a local police station. Combined, these features create a relaxed, friendly lifestyle that blends country charm with modern convenience.

Orroroo Health Service and Orroroo Community Home form an integral part of the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network and are highly regarded for their warm, supportive culture and high standard of care.

Orroroo Community Home is a 16-bed residential aged care facility, staffed by a dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Direct Care Workers. Nurses work collaboratively across services and are well supported with:

• 24/7 access to medical officers (with after-hours on-call)
• South Australian Virtual Emergency Service (SAVES)
• After-hours on-call nursing support

As a Registered Nurse at Orroroo, you will be welcomed into a stable, friendly team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across acute services, residential aged care, and emergency presentations. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

• Registration or eligibility for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Undergo employment screening and meet immunisation requirements.
