Overview:

The Distribution Officer is responsible for undertaking distribution activities at a specific Health Service. This includes distributing and supplying goods, inventory, mail, linen and other specialist items for the designated Health Service while working under the Senior Storeperson, Warehouse Supervisor or Distribution Services Officer.

The Distribution Officers will perform one of/or a combination of the following activities on a rotational basis as directed to meet operational requirements:

  • The receipt, storage and distribution of goods at the Health Service;
  • The receipt and delivery of inventory to imprests and the creation of replenishment orders;
  • The receipt, distribution and supply of linen, garments and other specialised items to linen imprests;
  • Receiving sorting and distributing incoming mail items as well as collecting, processing and despatching outgoing mail items; and
  • Providing an internal courier service to collect and deliver mail items across the Health Service.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
