Lead Mental Health Care for Older Adults - Multiclass Position | OPMH Community Team 

Join Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Advanced Nurse Unit Manager leading the Older Persons Mental Health Community Team at Flinders Medical Centre. About the role: 

Reporting to the Nursing Director, some of your duties for the role will include:

• Provides leadership and direction, acts as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person
• Leads changes to models of care
• Participate in workgroups/programs for patient/client outcomes that extend beyond the unit/service/workplace
• Actively contributing to the identification and development of continuous improvement strategies for the service
• Promoting and establishing consumer, family and carer participation in strategies for service delivery and policy development
• Developing strong relationships and communicating proactively with a range of external and internal stakeholders

About you:

• Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
• Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives
• Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy working independently and collaboratively within the heath care team
• An understanding of and ability to manage within an allocated budget
• Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be self-motivated, resourceful and innovative
• Experience in working with a range of government and non-government agencies

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.

Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a RNM4, AHP4 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
