  • MDP2 $96,569 to $153,553 p.a. + super + salary packaging 
  • MDP3 $158,151 to $164,308 p.a. + super + salary packaging 
  • Full Time
  • Duration of the Training Program: up to 2 years
  • Term of the Contract: 3 years (in line with clause 55 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement).  At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to assist find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract, if necessary.

About the Role
Join our Pain Management team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and help shape high-quality, patient-centred care. You’ll manage complex pain cases, build clinical expertise and contribute to teaching and research in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

  • Deliver patient-centred pain care across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Assess, plan and manage complex pain presentations
  • Work closely with nursing, allied health and medical teams
  • Liaise with GPs and external health professionals
  • Contribute to teaching, learning and research activities
  • Report to Head of Unit and work under specialist supervision

About You
You’re a motivated trainee ready to grow your pain medicine career, bringing strong clinical capability, teamwork and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care.

  • Vocationally qualified and eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia, with postgraduate training in pain medicine.
  • Clinically experienced and knowledgeable in accordance with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Faculty of Pain Medicine curricula, with a clear understanding of relevant clinical standards and procedures.
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and written skills, and the ability to work effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Committed professional who demonstrates enthusiasm for departmental activities, ongoing learning, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
