About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Support and supervise AHP1/AHA2 staff and students allocated to the work area to ensure high quality and timely service delivery
  • Encourage active participation of patients and their families/ carers in their assessment and treatment, enabling them to achieve the optimal level of independence
  • Record accurate daily workload data and performing other administrative duties as required
  • Delegation and supervision of therapy tasks, as appropriate, to physiotherapy/AH Assistants and students
  • Documenting assessments, interventions and management plans in medical records, according to agreed AH documentation standards

About you:

  • Extensive and broad clinical experience as a physiotherapist within an acute teaching hospital setting
  • Well-developed and effective written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to relate to people of various ages, cultures and backgrounds
  • Clinical experience working in an acute health care setting
  • Physiotherapy skills in the assessment and management of patients with a broad range of conditions relevant to SALHN and the Physiotherapy Department

Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a AHP1 or AHP2 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
