About the role

Join the Kate Hill Ward leadership team in an opportunity where you can further develop or learn new skills in paediatric nursing, as well as develop leadership skills! Work over a 7-day rotating roster to support the team in and out of hours.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager provides person-centred nursing care, oversees daily care outcomes, and supports the operations of Kate Hill Ward. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager promotes a positive, responsive team culture and assists the Nurse Unit Manager with staffing, performance, and service management.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care and individual case management.
  • Oversee the provision of nursing care within a team/unit.
  • Assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager in management, clinical, and education activities.
  • Plan and coordinate services including those from other disciplines.
  • Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff, and staff with less experience.

Skills and Experience

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse.
  • Demonstrated competence in surgical nursing.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to relate to people from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
