Healthcare Reception/Administration Officer - Where Every Interaction Matters

About the role: 

Reporting to the Business Coordinator, this role is responsible for providing administrative and reception support for the Aboriginal Family Clinic.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure public enquiries, both presenting and by phone, are handled efficiently and effectively and in a timely manner
  • Ensure client information are kept confidential and a professional service is provided at all times
  • Ensure a welcoming environment and welcome client on arrival in a friendly and courteous manner,
  • Provide relevant information to the client regarding their appointment and in consultation with the clinical staff,
  • Ensure client demographic details and other client relevant details are up to date,
  • Ensure transport list is organised and processed in a timely manner

About you:

  • Demonstrated effective communication, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills,
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal individual clients, families and communities,
  • Demonstrated good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work with an eye to detail,
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality,
  • Ability to take initiative and complete tasks with less supervision,
  • Sound interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a respectful manner and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other staff members,
  • Experience in working in a collaborative team environment,
  • Previous experience working in a reception/administration role particularly in a health, health care or health-related setting
