Clinical Trials Coordinator Cardiology - Be Part of Medical Breakthroughs

Join our cardiology research team at Flinders Medical Centre as a Clinical Trials Coordinator, where you will manage cutting-edge cardiovascular studies that directly improve patient outcomes. This ASO4 role offers the opportunity to work with leading cardiologists and researchers while coordinating all aspects of clinical trials from patient recruitment through to data collection. About the role: 

Reporting to the Research Manager, this role is responsible for the coordination of Cardiology trials at Flinders Medical Centre and associated sites, and ensuring each trial is conducted in accordance with the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and which complies with National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Ethical Statement of Ethical Conduct in Human Research. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure potential subjects are identified, screened for eligibility, and that all subjects recruited are eligible to be enrolled,
  • Ensure adherence to GCP principles in all aspects of the trial and maintain regulatory requirements to ensure the study is able to meet the scrutiny of an internal or external audit,
  • Ensure subject and relatives are kept fully informed of the trials progress where applicable,
  • Ensure follow-up care and progress of subjects involved in the study is monitored according to protocol,
  • Ensure effective and positive communication with subjects, health professionals, clinical investigators and company representatives,
  • Act as the contact person for research team or subject inquiries as applicable,
  • Assume responsibility for allocated trials and ensure all aspects and requirements of each allocated study is met,

About you:

  • Ability to work as an independent operator within a team environment,
  • Maintain professional knowledge by reference to relevant literature and participation in staff development programs,
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts and develop effective and professional working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, especially senior clinicians,
  • Demonstrated ability use high level analytical skills to examine and resolve complex issues,
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of subjects with complex health issues,
  • Experience in conducting clinical research
