Overview:

The Program Manager, Pharmacy Immunisation Programs provides operational and procedural leadership to the Immunisation Section (IS) to efficiently and effectively deliver administrative and legislative activities, governance and oversight of statewide community pharmacy immunisation programs. 

The key functions of this role include:

  • Leading the IS through effective decision making and judgment to implement community pharmacy immunisation programs.
  • Planning and managing the efficient functioning of IS activities related to community pharmacy immunisation programs
  • Provides operational and strategic support to the Director, IS.
  • Liaises with and influences other jurisdictions and the Commonwealth on policy and legislation in relation to community pharmacy immunisation programs.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

  • Appropriate qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, giving eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and/or membership with the relevant professional associations
  • Post graduate qualifications, including recognised technical or advanced training, in health service management, public health, pharmacy or related discipline
  • Thorough working knowledge of the South Australian Controlled Substances Act 1984 and Regulations related to pharmacies and medicines legislation.
