Join our Paediatric Medicine Team

Provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Paediatric and Child Health Department and Child Protection Service patients

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Unit Paediatrics & Child Health this role is responsible for providing clinical leadership and contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing appropriate clinical care to Paediatric patients, including those with child protection concerns and vulnerabilities
  • Working harmoniously with all members of the clinical team
  • Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students
  • Attending and participating in clinical and departmental meetings
  • Ensuring effective communication with other care providers to promote continuity of patient care

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • Demonstrated excellence in delivering clinical care to a wide range of acute and ambulatory paediatric clinical presentations 
  • Demonstrated participation in approved continuing medical education since attaining specialist qualification.
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
