About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated and motivated Medical Practitioner to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN).

This position is specifically designed to support the training requirements of advanced RANZCOG trainees, offering broad and purposeful exposure across both obstetrics and gynaecology. You will work across Lyell McEwin Hospital and Modbury Hospital, gaining valuable experience within two busy and supportive tertiary environments.

In this role, you will be actively involved in a wide range of clinical activities, including labour ward care and participation in an after-hours on-call roster. Your clinical exposure may also extend to antenatal and gynaecology outpatient clinics, gynaecological surgery lists, and specialist outpatient services such as colposcopy and urodynamic studies. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the coordinated management of patients across the department.

As a senior registrar, you will also undertake additional administrative responsibilities, including roster management, while playing an active role in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, continuing education, and Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Management activities. These responsibilities provide an excellent platform to further develop leadership capability alongside advanced clinical competence.

As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2025, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
