Join our team in a pivotal nursing leadership support role, where your expertise will help shape workforce planning, service delivery and operational performance across the health service.

About the Role

In this dynamic position, you will provide high-level support to Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers and Nursing Directors, contributing to the effective coordination and delivery of nursing and midwifery services.

This role blends operational oversight with strategic input, supporting areas such as workforce planning, patient flow, resource management, and quality and safety systems.  You'll play a key role in ensuring services run efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support workforce planning, staffing methodologies, recruitment and selection processes, and resource allocation, including patient flow and bed management
  • Contribute to financial administration, operational reporting, and effective use of health service resources
  • Support accreditation, risk management, quality improvement activities, and ensure alignment between practice, policy, and standards
  • Provide leadership support across wards, units, programs or service areas, contributing to safe staffing, skill mix and positive workplace culture
  • Coordinate and/or support projects, programs, and service improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery
  • Participate in after-hours operational oversight where applicable, including staff allocation, escalation management, and coordination of significant events in consultation with executive on-call

What You'll Bring

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practising certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical operations or nursing leadership support
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound knowledge of healthcare systems, quality and risk frameworks
