  • 5 hours per day- 5 days per week- two shift Early and Late - Early is 8am-1pm and late shifts are 4pm-9pm and come with penalty rates.

Join our Women's Assessment Service team as a Ward Clerk and provide essential administrative support that directly impacts patient care. This flexible part-time position offers 25 hours per week with choice of early and late shifts. You'll be part of SA Health's commitment to delivering world-class women's healthcare at one of Adelaide's leading medical centres.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Administration Manager, this role is responsible for performing general administrative and clerical duties pertaining to the management of patients in WAS and facilitates communication with patient and Midwife Manager and other units to ensure efficient use of beds

Duties for the role will include:

  • Answering all incoming telephone calls and dealing with routine patient enquiries – using judgement in conveying appropriate information,
  • Welcoming and directing visitors to the patient concerned,
  • Receiving, sorting and distributing mail,
  • Preparing outgoing mail,
  • Ensure pre visits are prepared in advance,
  • Check patients in/out of EMR,
  • Filing/scanning results and other required documentation in the patient electronic medical record,
  • Maintaining records/statistics pertinent to each area and identifying systems that require improvement

About you:

  • Ability to communicate with a range of patients, the public, visitors and staff in an efficient and courteous manner,
  • Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills
  • General experience in clerical and/or receptionist duties,
  • Experience in using information systems and data entry,
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining appropriate records,
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment as position may require relieving across wards/clinics within Women’s & Children’s Division
