About the Role

We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Officer to join our friendly and supportive team. In this important role, you’ll ensure the accurate management of patient information by scanning, uploading and quality-checking documents for inclusion in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Your commitment to maintaining data integrity and meeting departmental KPIs will help ensure our clinical teams have timely, reliable access to the information they need to deliver exceptional patient care.

You’ll also play a key part in auditing EMR content, preparing paper files for outpatient clinics, current inpatients, research and surgery, and facilitating the secure transfer of patient information to external healthcare providers. Working collaboratively with a multi-skilled team, you’ll contribute to the smooth coordination of daily workloads and provide a high-quality, customer-focused service to both internal and external stakeholders. If you’re organised, adaptable and passionate about supporting clinical services behind the scenes, we’d love to welcome you onboard.

About You

You’re a reliable, organised and customer-focused professional who takes pride in maintaining accurate records and supporting clinical teams. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, stay calm under pressure, and bring a positive, respectful approach to every interaction.

  • Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, maintain confidentiality and provide courteous support to staff, patients and visitors.

  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team, using initiative, sound judgement and well-developed organisational skills to manage varied workloads and physical demands.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office and experienced in administrative and records management systems, with the ability to research, access and apply information accurately.

  • Knowledge of (or ability to acquire) medical record service procedures, hospital processes, and relevant SA policies, including WHS, EEO, Anti-Discrimination and Code of Conduct requirements
