Nestled in the eastern slopes of the southern Flinders Ranges within the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network. Laura is a charming rural town located 218 km north of Adelaide and 40 km east of Port Pirie. Nursing at the Laura Hospital offers a great opportunity for a good balance of work across all areas of the service.  Staff are well supported to develop new skills and knowledge, to pursue areas of interest, to expand scope of practice and to provide leadership.  You will find the team friendly and supportive.  As a nurse you will plan and deliver direct care to inpatients and residents and treat all emergency patients attending the hospital.

Laura Hospital is a Multi-Purpose Service comprising 6 acute inpatient and 12 aged care beds.

  • acute medical services
  • palliative care
  • Residential aged care. 

 As a small site nursing staff work dynamically across all areas service.  The hospital is well supported by an onsite GP practice with afterhours on-call and the SA Virtual Emergency Service (SAVES).
