As per the SMOEA 2025, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-months allocation as Advanced Trainee Allergy Immunology will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

About the role

The Advanced Trainee/Fellow in Paediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology provides inpatient and outpatient care under consultant supervision within the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Women's & Children's Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. The role manages children with allergic, immunodeficiency, autoinflammatory and immunisation-related conditions, while undertaking advanced RACP training. The position also contributes to clinical teaching, research and service development within the unit.

Key duties of the role

• Provide supervised inpatient and outpatient care for paediatric patients with allergic, immunological and vaccine-related conditions.
• Participate in the Specialist Immunisation Service and coordinate follow-up care for inpatients and outpatients.
• Maintain accurate and high-quality clinical documentation supporting patient management decisions.
• Contribute to on-call services and clinical service delivery across hospital and community settings as required.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teaching, training programs, research activities and departmental quality improvement.

Skills and Experience

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and eligibility for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Completion of RACP Basic Paediatric Training and recognised Advanced Trainee status.
• Sound clinical skills in paediatrics appropriate to level of training.
• Strong communication, teamwork and decision-making skills in multidisciplinary environments.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to change and maintain patient-centred care standards.
