Overview:

  • The Principal Project Officer is primarily responsible for the initiation and the coordination, development, management and evaluation of a range of community and primary care strategies. This includes supporting project work associated with supported discharge/hospital avoidance which includes but is not limited to residential aged care, disability, and primary health care.
  • The role will provide support and guidance to other Project Officers in the Clinical System Support and Improvement (CSSI) team in the development of policies, strategies, service redesign initiatives and projects.
  • The Principal Project Officer will work with industry partners to support SA Health representation on inter jurisdictional committees related to the CSSI portfolio. Examples include working with the Primary Health Networks, General Practitioners, and non-government primary care providers as well as the Commonwealth Department for Health, Disability and Ageing (DHDA).
  • The Principal Project Officer will contribute as an integral team member of the Integrated Care Systems (ICS) Unit contributing to the CSSI business plan.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

 

Desirable Characteristics

  • An appropriate Tertiary Qualification (Project Management//Health/Business related discipline), preferably including post-graduate studies.
  • Demonstrated experience in project/program management techniques, methodologies and related activities including the preparation, implementation and evaluation of policies, strategic plans and strategies dealing with complex issues, including sensitive matters
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in providing written and verbal briefings on strategic issues to internal and external stakeholders.
