About the role

The CAMHS Clinician – Occupational Therapist provides specialist mental health assessment, intervention, and support to children, adolescents, and their families with complex needs. The role works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care and positive mental health outcomes.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide therapeutic assessment, intervention, and consultancy services to children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Ensure culturally responsive service delivery while providing supervision, training, and education to staff and students.
  • Contribute to research, evaluation, and team administration activities to support service improvement and effective multidisciplinary practice.
  • A contemporary professional practice portfolio is held with supporting evidence of knowledge and skills commensurate to the role.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board Australia (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health settings
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and liaising with external agencies
  • Knowledge of developmental theory, occupational therapy models, and relevant mental health policies and systems
