About the role

As an Occupational Therapist in the Central Early Childhood and Families Service (CECFS), you will work within our team of Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, to service children and their families who live within the central suburbs of Adelaide. You will provide an assessment and therapy service to children aged 0 to 4 years (until start of preschool year) who present with developmental delays or differences, seeing clients across our 3 community based clinic locations, with office in North Adelaide. You will engage will families, monitor progress and refer to appropriate services to ensure optimal developmental and health outcomes. Key duties of the role

  • Provide direct clinical care delivery to young children and their families, aligned with patient-centre care principles
  • Supporting families to refer onto appropriate services (e.g. diagnostic and medical services, NDIS, community support services)
  • Contribute to the effective and professional functioning of the Occupational Therapy Service

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience working with children aged 0-4 years and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to people from various cultures and backgrounds, including complex vulnerable families.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptive and respond positively to change.
