Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is eager to recruit an Occupational Therapist to work in our dynamic, growing and supportive team, to help us deliver exceptional care to our community.
Join SA Health's Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Occupational Therapist in our Northern Community Mental Health team. This full-time, short-term contract position runs until 25 May 2027, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference in mental health care across Adelaide's northern communities. Based at the NALHN MHS Salisbury Adult Service unit, you'll work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive mental health services to adults in our community. This role offers excellent professional development opportunities while contributing to South Australia's leading public health system. What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with mental health conditions
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, including NDIS supports
- Provide group and individual therapy sessions in community settings
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other allied health professionals
- Support clients in developing daily living skills and community participation
To be eligible for this position, you must have Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
