Join our team as an Allied Health Team Leader and help make a difference! 

As the Allied Health Team Leader, General Medicine, you will be accountable to the General Medicine Allied Health Service Manager for the planning, delivery and teamwork practices that enhance patient outcomes. You will be a member of the General Medicine Leadership Team and work collaboratively with these groups to achieve outcomes of the service.

You will use your professional judgement and skills to formulate, implement and evaluate Allied Health practices in order to improve patient pathways and trans and inter-disciplinary work practices in General Medicine and facilitate day-to-day coordination of the clinical team function. 

This position may also include a clinical practice component aligned with service and workforce needs.  

About the role: 

As the Allied Health Team Leader, you will report to the General Medicine Allied Health Service Manager. Some of your duties may involve: 

  • Partnering with other providers to develop and enhance patient pathways and improve the quality-of-service provision. 
  • Exploring opportunities for collaboration with the General Medicine Multidisciplinary team, other Acute and Sub-Acute service providers, General Practitioners, Primary Care providers and out of hospital services. 
  • Supporting the General Medicine Service Manager to operationalise fundamentals of care coordinating carer and workflow for the General Medicine Allied Health team
  • Allocating work duties and supporting the Multidisciplinary Allied Health Assistants in General Medicine, including monitoring workloads and performance in order to maintain high levels of service excellence and adhering to relevant clinical standards and competencies. 

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Allied Health Discipline, or equivalent qualification enabling registration with the relevant board or eligibility for membership of the progressional association (for non-registered professions). 
  • Demonstrated competence in a broad range of specific discipline comprehensive assessment and treatment methodologies and discharge planning. 
  • Demonstrated and significant relevant clinical experience at a senior leadership role in the delivery of relevant models and practices. 
  • Experience in strategic planning and service development. 
  • Demonstrated specialist level expertise and skills in contemporary clinical practice standards, planning and provision of clinical services.
