We are looking for a Psychologist to join our team

An exciting opportunity to join the Acute Allied Health Division of SALHN. Working across medical and surgical areas, you will use your professional judgement to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate Psychology Services, working collaboratively with patients and the multidisciplinary team. 

About the role: 

As the Psychologist for Acute Allied Health, some of your duties may involve:

  • Providing high level, evidence-based Psychological, Cognitive and Behavioural/Emotional assessment, diagnosis and appropriate treatment of mental health, cognitive and psychological issues in patients with complex health issues. 
  • Providing your expert opinion, consultancy and psycho-education services to staff who are supporting patients with complex psychological, cognitive or mental health issues to maximise self-management strategies. 
  • Establishing and developing internal and external networks of service providers to deliver the best possible patient resources and pathways and to act as a consultant in clinical psychological services.

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA and general registration with PsyBA and an endorsed area of practice in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology. 
  • Significant relevant clinical experience in the delivery of relevant models and practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience in the effective development, implementation and evaluation of service improvement activities. 
  • Ability to apply a high-level of competence in designing and implementing evidence-based psychological interventions and treatments, with a broad range of Clinical Psychology clinical skills. 
  • Ability to apply a high level of competence and extensive knowledge in psychometric assessment, research and program design. 
  • Ability to problem solve, time manage and apply specialist skills to complex issues relating to client therapy and the psychology service.
