Opportunity to join our team as an Allied Health Assistant Educator

As an Allied Health Assistant Educator, you will work under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to participate in teaching, supervision, support and development of Allied Health Assistants (AHA) or AHA students as required. 

This position may also include a clinical practice component aligned with service and workforce needs.

About the role: 

Your duties as the Allied Health Assistant Educator will be clearly and specifically directed by the supervising Allied Health Professional (AHP) clinician or educator. Some of your duties may include: 

  • Providing safe, evidence-based, person-centred care and supporting, as delegated, under the supervision of an AHP, within your approved scope of practice. 
  • Taking part in teaching, supervision, support and development of Allied Health Assistants (AHA) or students as required. 
  • Assisting with the coordination of AHA student placements and traineeships. 
  • Contributing to quality improvement and/or research activities. 
  • Contributing to an innovative approach to Allied Health service delivery and patient care in collaboration with the allied health team. 
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, regarding data, performance, education and training. 

About you:

  • CERT IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent. 
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting. 
  • Experience in an Allied Health Assistant role. 
  • Clear aptitude for working in a healthcare environment and with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds. 
  • Ability to work under remote supervision and direction from AHPs. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of the workplace on a daily basis. 
  • Sound time management, organisational and communication skills.
