About the role

The Operations Manager and Training Coordinator provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for consumer and community engagement initiatives across the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN). The role is responsible for leading consumer participation, co-design, and patient experience initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, national safety and quality standards, and consumer-centred care principles. It also includes line management of the ASO6 Project Coordinator/Data Analytics and close partnership with the Consumer and Community Engagement Director to build a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and performance oversight for the ASO6 Project Coordinator/Data Analytics, ensuring effective delivery of consumer engagement and data initiatives.
  • Streamline and lead consumer engagement and co-design activities, including consumer advisory groups, ensuring diverse consumer perspectives are embedded in service planning and improvement.
  • Oversee the implementation of Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREM), ensuring data is used to inform service planning, reporting, evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training and capability-building programs to strengthen staff skills in co-design, consumer engagement and person and family-centred care.
  • Ensure governance and compliance with SA Health policy, NSQHS Standards and WCHN requirements, including monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of consumer engagement activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and line management experience, including supervising staff and supporting high-performing teams.
  • Strong background in consumer engagement, co-design, or patient experience initiatives within a complex health or community environment.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training programs that build organisational capability in person-centred care and co-design.
  • Experience using data and evaluation frameworks (including PREM or similar) to drive quality improvement and service development.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance frameworks, and national safety and quality healthcare standards.
